Overview

Whatfix enables you to create guidance overlays within Mirror simulations to build structured, interactive training experiences. While Mirror captures real workflows to provide a safe environment for your users to practice and understand each step of a process, adding Guidance content to these simulations creates clear, guided training experiences that support onboarding and process practice.

For example, you can start a Mirror with a Pop-up that introduces the process and launch a Flow that guides users through each step. Additionally, you can add Smart Tips to provide relevant information at specific points in the Workflow and use Task Lists to streamline training and track progress.

What is DAP on Mirror?

Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) on Mirror refers to the ability to create Whatfix Guidance content such as Pop-ups, Smart Tips, Beacons, Flows, Blockers, Task Lists, and Self Help directly on top of a Mirror simulation. Use the Whatfix Studio to select elements and create Guidance content on the captured Mirror Workflows. This enables you to:

  • Deliver product walkthroughs and task-based training in a simulation environment without impacting live data.

  • Add hints, tooltips, or task guidance on Mirror Screens.

  • Trigger Flows or additional guidance from specific interactions.

  • Package simulation and guidance into complete training modules.

Benefits of DAP on Mirror

  • Supports and enhances training outcomes: Guidance adds the instructions, cues, and context that turn Mirror Screens into a clear, actionable training experience. Users understand what to do at each step, reducing ambiguity about the process and building confidence in completing the workflow correctly.

  • Delivers guided, risk-free practice without extra environments: Guidance runs directly on the simulation, so no additional environments are required, and Workflows are practiced without touching live data. This avoids any risk to live data while still providing hands-on, step-by-step guidance.

  • Delivers scalable and consistent training: Guidance on Mirror enables many users to practice the same Workflow at once and ensures a consistent experience across teams. This reduces the effort and cost of repeated or instructor-led training.

Note:

To create and publish Guidance content directly on Mirror simulations, use Whatfix Studio. For more information, see Create DAP Guidance on Mirror.
