Note:
Multi-Language Support in Mirror is currently a Beta feature, available only for cloud deployments. To enable this feature, contact support@whatfix.com.
You can create localized versions only for supported languages. For more information, see Languages supported by Whatfix.
Overview
Whatfix Mirror enables you to create and manage localized versions of a Mirror Workflow for different languages and regions. This ensures that your learners can interact with Workflows in their preferred language while maintaining a consistent training structure. Whatfix automates the screen capture process for additional languages by re-capturing Mirror Screens in the target language, rather than translating existing content. This reduces the manual effort required to maintain separate versions of the same Workflow.
For example, you can create a base Workflow in English and add a French language variant to trigger an automated capture. Whatfix navigates the application and captures each screen independently using Whatfix Studio. The screen sequence remains the same, while the onscreen text appears in French in the corresponding language variant.
With Multi-Language support in Mirror, you can:
Add multiple languages to a single Mirror
Preview localized versions before publishing
Deliver language-specific experiences to learners
Info:
Multi-Language support in Mirror applies to Workflows, Workflows within a Simulation, and Assessments.

How Multi-Language Support Works
The default language variant is the language in which you originally capture the Mirror Workflow, typically English. All other Language Variants are built on top of the default language variant and stored within the same Workflow rather than as separate entities. They share the same Workflow structure and lifecycle stage, and are moved across lifecycle stages as a single unit. For example, if you capture a Workflow in French, French becomes the default language variant.
Each language variant functions as a language-specific layer built on top of a base Mirror. The Workflow structure, navigation, and screen flow remain unchanged while only the localized text and content change based on the selected language variant.
