Configure Locale identification rules

Advanced customization enables you to add custom rules to identify your language preferences directly using the Whatfix user interface. Configure Whatfix to adapt to your language preferences and provide a localized experience to your end users.

Use the following steps to configure a custom locale identification rule:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.

  2. Click Advanced customisation.

  1. Click User rules.

  2. Click Create.

  3. Select Locale identification, and then click Continue.

  4. Add a Rule Title.

  5. In the Where section, select where you want the rule to take effect.

Info:
  1. In the What section, configure how Whatfix identifies users. In the Where do you want to fetch the user from? dropdown, select the user value that defines the user.
    For example, if each locale has a unique identifier based on a value from the local storage value, select From Local Storage as fetcher.

  2. In the How do you want to process it? dropdown, parse the fetched value using JSON or String Operations. For more information, see Fetch and process information for identification rules.

Note:
  • Add multiple processors to parse the fetched value. Click Add Processor to add another parsing method.

  • Click Add Sequence to add more identifiers. Fetch a different value and parse it for another unique identification rule.

  1. Click Save.
