Configure User Identification Rules from a Pre-configured Application

Prev Next

Advanced customisation enables you to simplify the process of configuring user identification rules for popular applications by using pre-configured rules. Whatfix automatically configures these rules, eliminating the need for manual definition. Instead, select the desired application and utilize these pre-defined rules.

Use the following steps to configure a user identification rule from a pre-configured application:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.
    ia_left_nav_settings

  2. Click Advanced customisation.
    ia_settings_advanced%20configuration

  1. Click User identification.
    ac_set user.png

  2. Click Create Rule.
    set user_create rule.png

  3. Enter a Rule Title.
    set user_rule title.png

  4. Click Pre-configured application.
    ac_set user_pre config.png

Note:
  • Select the Enable user name capture on Desktop Apps checkbox to use the end user’s desktop account name for user identification. You cannot create a custom rule if you have selected this option.
    set user_enable desktop apps.png

  • Select the Enable detection via SSO checkbox to use the end user’s SSO authenticated IDs for user identification rules.
    set user_enable detection via SSO.png

  1. From the Application name dropdown, select the desired application.
    ac_set user_application name.png

Note:
  • If you've used Advanced Customization (AC) code to set up User identification, Whatfix recommends removing the AC code after setting up User identification rules using the above-mentioned steps (Whatfix UI).
  • If User identification is configured using both AC code and Whatfix UI, the AC code takes precedence over the UI configuration.
