Edit a Test case

You can edit a Test case in the following two ways:

  • From the Dashboard

  • Use Live Edit of the Test case

Edit a Test case using the Dashboard

Using the Dashboard, you can make the following edits:

  • Change the Test case name and description

  • Change the target URL

  • Edit the step completion rules

  • Edit the step input

  • Maximize the step screenshot

  • Move input step

  • Delete input step

Use the following steps to edit a Test case from the Dashboard:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Auto testing.

  2. Click Test cases.

  1. Click the Test case you want to edit.

  2. Make the necessary changes.

  • In case you need more context as to where was the Test case step created, you can use the Maximize icon on each Test case. This opens the entire screen on which the step was captured, giving you more context.

  • You can move the input step added within the Test case by clicking Move.

  • You can also delete the input step added within the Test case by clicking the Delete icon.

  1. Click Save.

Edit a Test case using Live Edit

Using Live Edit, you can make the following edits:

  • Add a new input step

  • Change the input step name

  • Change the input step tooltip position

  • Move input steps

  • Delete an input step.

Use the following steps to edit a step in a Test case using Live Edit:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Auto testing.

  2. Click Test cases.

  1. Select the Test case you want to edit.

  2. On the top right corner, click Live Edit.

  3. On Whatfix Studio, click the step you want to edit.

  4. Click Edit step and make the necessary changes.

Note:

  • You can change the input step name.

  • You can change the input step tooltip position.
    Choose_Position_Flow

  • On Whatfix Studio, you can use drag and drop to move the input step.

  • On Whatfix Studio, you can also delete the input step by clicking the more icon next to the input step you want to delete, and then from the drop down click Delete TC Step.

Info:

You can also add a new input step by clicking the More icon next to the step and then from the dropdown selecting where you want to add the input step.

  1. Once you have made the changes, click Save.

  2. On Whatfix Studio, click Save Testcase.
