Link two Flows

Article Summary

You may need more than one Flow to explain a certain scenario in your application. Whatfix enables you to connect one Flow to another Flow at any step. The user can either view the linked Flow or skip it.

Linking two Flows is a two step process:

Step 1: Find the Flow ID of the Flow that you want to link
Step 2: Link the Flows

Find the Flow ID of the Flow that you want to link

Use the following steps to get the Flow ID:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.

  2. Click Flows.

  3. Click the Flow you want to copy the ID of.

  4. Click Copy ID.

  • The Flow ID is copied to the clipboard.

  • You can also view the Flow ID in the URL of the Flow. The last section in the URL is the ID of the Flow.

Link the Flows

Link a Flow to a new Flow

Use the following steps to link a Flow to a new Flow:

  1. Log in to the application where you want to create content, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.

  2. Click Flow.

  3. Enter the name of the Flow as you want it displayed to the users.

  4. Click + Add Step.

  5. Click the desired element on the page that the user needs to select.

  1. Review/Edit the auto generated action text on the step.

Enter any additional information that you want to provide in the description section of the tooltip.

  1. Select the text to which you want to link the Flow.

  2. Click the Insert Link icon.

  3. In the URL field, enter the Flow ID in the format wfx-Flow ID.

The link must be added in the wfx-Flow ID format. Your added link has the following format: wfx-4033f234-bac6-4119-bfc5-12611f16af22.

  1. Select the Open in new tab checkbox.

  2. Click Insert.

  3. Under CONFIGURATIONS, choose the desired position of the tooltip.

  4. Click Save Step.

  5. Add additional steps as required.

  6. Click Save Flow.

Link a Flow to an existing Flow

Use the following steps to link a Flow to an existing Flow:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.

  2. Click Flows.

  3. Hover your cursor over the required Flow, and then click the Edit icon.

  4. Go to the step and then click Edit.

  1. Select the text you want to link the Flow to and then click the Insert Link icon.

  2. In the URL field, enter the Flow ID in the format wfx-Flow ID.

The link must be added in the wfx-Flow ID format. Your added link has the following format: wfx-4033f234-bac6-4119-bfc5-12611f16af22.

  1. Select the Open in new tab checkbox.
