Overview
Whatfix enables you to segment content to users based on attributes fetched at an application level.
Web applications contain multiple underlying attributes, some of which are associated with a user, whereas others are not.
Enterprise Attributes are the attributes that are part of the application but are not associated with the user. For example, geography, department, account type, etc.
Use cases
Whatfix Enterprise Attributes enable you to fetch your application information and use them in widget Visibility Rules for easy content segmentation.
For example, you can configure a Pop-up to display only to users logging in from the EMEA region.
You can use enterprise attributes for use cases where end-user-related segmentation is not required.
Create an enterprise attribute
Use the following steps to create an enterprise attribute,
-
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.
-
Click App integrations.
-
Click Attributes.
-
On the Enterprise Attributes tab, click + Enterprise Attribute.
-
Enter the Enterprise Attribute Name and select its Variable Type.
-
Click Save.
Assign values to the Enterprise Attribute
To assign values to an Enterprise Attribute, contact support@whatfix.com.
Use the enterprise attribute as a Visibility Rule
On completion of the first integration run, these attributes are available in the Visibility Rules section of widgets for content segmentation.
Use the following steps to add enterprise attributes as Visibility Rules,
-
Go to the Visibility section of any widget.
-
Select the Enterprise Attribute condition using the dropdown menu.
-
Select the Attribute that you want as part of the Visibility Rules and then enter its value.
-
Finish creating the widget.
