Note:
Instant Validation can be enabled from the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard. To enable the feature, see Enable Instant Validation for new Visibility Rules on Studio.
Instant Validation is only supported for the new Visibility Rules on Studio. For more information on the new Visibility Rules, see Understand the new Visibility Rules for Content.
While configuring content and widgets in Studio, Instant Validation provides immediate feedback for both Visibility Rules and Element Precision Rules, showing whether each rule applied is valid or invalid.
Expand the following accordions for more details.
Validate Visibility Rules on Studio
Use the following steps to validate Visibility Rules in Studio:
While creating content using Whatfix Studio, click Visibility Rules.

On the Visibility Rules page, click When does the beacon start appearing?

From the What causes the beacon to appear? dropdown, select Something on the application.

From the What would you like to identify? dropdown, select Element.

From the How would you like to identify the element?, click Manually on application.

Click Select element and select the element on the page.

In the Check if element section, choose Exists.

Info:
Once the element is selected, Whatfix immediately displays a message: Applied condition is valid on this page, indicating that the selected element is valid on the page.

If the condition does not apply to the current page, Whatfix displays a message: Applied condition is invalid on this page.

Note:
Some Where conditions such as URL might show invalid on the page depending on how they are configured. For example, a URL Equals condition might show as invalid if it matches only the domain instead of the full URL. Using URL Contains can provide the correct validation. For more information, see Set Where your content and widget appears.

Finish creating the content and click Save Beacon.

Validate Element Precision Rules on Studio
Use the following steps to validate Element Precision Rules in Studio:
On Whatfix Studio, click Element Precision.

From the How would you like to identify the element? dropdown, select Using CSS selector.

Enter the selector Value.

Note:
If the selector is valid, the content remains visible on the page.
If the selector is invalid, the content disappears from the page, indicating that the condition is invalid.

Finish creating the content and click Save Beacon.
