Improved Self Help is a Beta feature. To enable Improved Self Help on your dashboard, contact support@whatfix.com. Improved Self Help provides an enhanced and revamped end-user experience of the Self Help widget. Once enabled, end users see Improved Self Help instead of the Self Help widget.
Whatfix enables you customize the orientation of the Self Help Floating Action Button (FAB). You can position the FAB either vertically or horizontally based on your application layout.
End-user experience:
Here’s how the end-user experience appears based on the selected orientation.
Horizontal:
Auto-orient:
Use the following steps to customize the orientation of the Self Help widget:
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Style.
Click Self Help.
In the Customisations section, click FAB.
In the Orientation dropdown, select one of the following:
Horizontal: Displays the FAB in a horizontal layout on the selected side of the screen: top, bottom, left, or right. For example, use Horizontal orientation when your interface requires the FAB to consistently align with other horizontal elements, such as a navigation bar, to maintain a uniform interface.
Auto-orient: Automatically adjusts the FAB layout based on screen placement. The FAB automatically aligns vertically (left or right) or horizontally (top or bottom) to optimize visibility. For example, use Auto-orient when your application supports multiple screen sizes or dynamic layouts. This option ensures the FAB always displays in the most user-friendly orientation regardless of placement.
- Click Save.
Once saved, you must push the changes made to Production so that the latest behavior reflects for end users.
