Single Installer for Whatfix Extensions

Article summary

In large enterprises, end users often work across multiple environments. Your organization may have deployed Whatfix content on applications accessed through web browsers such as Chrome, Edge, and Firefox; desktop applications such as Microsoft Teams and other custom Windows-based tools; and OS-level applications, including legacy native applications and system utilities.

As the number of supported browsers and application types grows, managing separate installer files for each platform becomes increasingly complex and difficult to maintain at scale.

The Whatfix Single Installer enables you to generate and deploy one unified installer file (.msi) that supports web browsers, desktop applications, and OS-level applications across the entire organization.

This unified approach eliminates the need for browser-specific or application-specific installers, reduces deployment and update overhead for IT teams, and simplifies user onboarding.

This is a one-time setup. Once deployed, the installer automatically displays Whatfix Content across supported platforms without requiring separate installations for each environment. If a new browser or application is introduced later, you can update and redeploy the same installer package instead of creating new ones.
