Analyzing survey data manually consumes significant time. Organizations often struggle to identify positive and negative responses from surveys. Whatfix's Qualitative analysis summary provides an AI-generated report based on survey responses from end users. It generates positive and negative viewpoints after analyzing the survey data.
Prerequisites
A minimum of 5 responses to the survey is required.
A Whatfix Premium plan is necessary.
How is a Qualitative analysis summary generated?
Whatfix Qualitative analysis summary doesn’t take a prompt from you. It generates automatically from your users’ survey responses in Production.
The Qualitative analysis summary uses the following information to generate a summary:
The text of each user’s open-ended survey response
No prompt, question, or other input from you
Capabilities of the feature
A Qualitative analysis summary helps you:
Get a summary of open-ended survey responses without reading each one manually.
See five positive and five negative viewpoints from your users’ responses.
Give feedback on a summary with a thumbs-up or thumbs-down.
Info:
Whatfix does not use your prompt inputs or generated Flow content to train AI models. For more information, see Data Security and Privacy Policies for Whatfix AI features.
Limitations
Whatfix Qualitative analysis summary has the following limitations:
Whatfix generates a summary only for surveys in the Production stage.
A Qualitative analysis summary is AI-generated, and the output might occasionally contain inaccuracies.
Use the following steps to access the Qualitative analysis summary:
-
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Guidance analytics.
-
Click Surveys.
Note
For any report, use the filter to narrow down reporting to specific criteria. By default, the filter displays data for the last 3 months.

To filter survey analytics data for different CLM stages, see Get Analytics Data across CLM Stages.
In the Survey Analytics List View, surveys list based on their creation date rather than the response date. Therefore, if the creation date is not within the selected date range, a highly engaged survey may not appear at the top of the list.
Info:
Surveys analytics shows the following information:
Click the Survey for which you want to view the Qualitative analysis summary.

Click Summary.

Note
The Qualitative analysis summary automatically begins analyzing survey responses from end users.

After analyzing the survey data, the Qualitative analysis summary generates a full summary.

After the summary is generated, click Show more.

Note
The summary includes positive and negative viewpoints from the responses.
How does Qualitative analysis summary work?
The Qualitative analysis summary uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate positive and negative viewpoints on survey responses from end users.
Feedback about the generated summary can be provided by giving it a thumbs-up or thumbs-down.
If a thumbs-down is given on the analysis summary, Whatfix enables users to provide feedback.
