Reposition the Self Help Widget

The Self Help widget might hide parts of the application, hindering visibility and accessibility for users. To overcome this issue, Whatfix enables you to reposition the widget for better visibility.

Note:
  • End users can change the widget position and Whatfix remembers the new position on the next visit.
  • When end users reposition the Self Help widget, other Self Help widgets on different pages or applications also move to the new location.
  • The Self Help widgets on other pages and applications appear in the new position only in the following two scenarios:
    • If end users have the same user role
    • If the Self Help widget is present in the same browser
  • The Self Help widget resets to the default position when the browser cache is cleared.

Reposition an Old Self Help widget

Use the following steps to reposition an Old Self Help widget:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Style.

  2. Click Self Help.

  1. In the Appearance section, go to Position, and change the Self Help widget position as per your requirement.

  2. Click Save.

Ensure that you Publish the changes to Production to make them available for end users.

End users can change the widget position by using the following steps:

i. Click and hold the Self Help widget.
ii. Drag and drop the widget to any of the 12 available positions.


Note:

End users cannot change the widget position using the Mobile view.

Reposition an Improved Self Help widget

Improved Self Help is a Beta feature. To enable Improved Self Help on your dashboard, contact support@whatfix.com. Improved Self Help provides an enhanced and revamped end-user experience of the Self Help widget. Once enabled, end users see Improved Self Help instead of the Self Help widget.

Use the following steps to reposition an Improved Self Help widget:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Style.

  2. Click Self Help.

  1. In the Customisations section, click FAB.

  2. In the Position section, select the position for your Self Help widget from the 12 available positions.

  3. Click Save.

Note:
