Issue:
When creating a Flow, you may need to select an item in a dropdown menu. However, after expanding the menu, when you click + Step, the dropdown closes, and you can no longer capture the element you wanted to capture.
Solution:
Whatfix has shortcut keys that you can use to initiate capture so that the dropdown menu remains open. The following keyboard shortcuts can be used to capture the element.
Note
Before using the shortcuts, click inside the application where you want to capture the dropdown element.
- To insert Step Before: CTRL + SHIFT + Z
- To insert Step After: CTRL + SHIFT + X
- To reselect an element: CTRL + SHIFT + E
Using these shortcuts is an alternative to clicking the + Step in the Whatfix Studio.
Note
- Keyboard shortcuts are the same for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
- Currently, Whatfix does not support element selection on dropdowns in HTML-based applications.
