What are the different kinds of Whatfix extensions in use?

Whatfix has two kinds of extensions:

  • Studio extension: This is used by content creators to create in-app content like Flows, Smart Tips and Beacons, that require the users to select elements on the respective application.

  • Production extension: The production extension enables you to render the Whatfix content in the application of your end users using browser extensions.
    This is applicable only if you don't have access to your application code and cannot use the Javascript embed method of integration.

  • Preview extension: The Preview extension enables you to preview Advanced customization (AC) code or content that is affected by it. Without the Preview extension, content creators cannot test any AC code.

If you have access to your application code, use the Javascript embed method to integrate Whatfix with the application and your end users do not require a production extension.
