An API call, or API request, is a message sent to a server to request data or a service from an Application Programming Interface (API). APIs are a set of rules and protocols that enable software programs to communicate with each other.
Whatfix can automatically capture events from important user interactions and behaviour on your application without any external configuration required.

Browser storage refers to the web browser's capability to store data locally on a user's device.

Content Delivery or Distribution Network (CDN) is a geographically distributed network that is used to host the same content. When a request is made for the content, the network routes the user to the closest server, thus ensuring a faster response time, high availability, and improved performance.
Cohorts enable you to create a group of users based on specific criteria and analyze the group to take further actions.
Conversion Funnels are used to understand how end users are using a product. Track the end users' path from when they discover the product until they either drop off or convert into a customer.
Custom Events are user-defined events like User Actions, events captured using Whatfix API, and more.

Dashboards are a Product Analytics reporting feature that enables you to visualize your insights. They provide information at a glance to help you make data-driven decisions.
Default Events are all events generated based on interactions with Whatfix content and widgets.
Drag Handlers are used to move or reposition the component within the Pop-up.

The new and enhanced Whatfix dashboard helps you seamlessly navigate between the Whatfix products, Guidance, and Product Analytics. The experience also provides a collapsible sidebar that enables you to quickly find the content or widget that you're looking for.
Event Attributes enables you to send additional contextual information along with Events to help with analysis and decision-making.

A visually prominent button that represents the primary action on a page. It has a filled background, an outline, and text that draws users' attention.
A step-by-step guide that helps your end users complete a task or learn about an objective.
Funnels are a series of sequential events that help you analyze and understand how your end users navigate an application process.

I
Identity and access management (IdAM) is a framework of policies, technologies, and processes that helps organizations manage who can access their systems, applications, and resources. IdAM is also known as identity management (IdM).
An Identity Provider (IdP) is an authority system that holds and verifies user authentication information.

The data persists across multiple browser sessions. Data stored in local storage remains on the user's device even after closing and reopening the browser.

A Mirror folder is a container that groups all the screens that are captured in the mirroring process.
A Mirror link redirects users to different Mirror pages. Links are automatically created between Mirror screens while they are being captured. Mirror also enables you to manually link Mirror screens.
The Mirror main page is the central location where you can access and manage all your created Mirror projects or folders.
A Mirror Screen is a replica of a single UI element which represents an interactive element in the web application.
A mirrored application is the simulation of the web application created through the mirroring process. The mirrored application is also called as a Mirror of the web application.

A button representing an alternative action or a less important action than the Primary button. It has a transparent background with an outline and text.
P
The primary button is associated with a positive user action based on the Pop-up's contents. For example, trigger a flow or open a URL.
A private key is a secret number or variable used to send encrypted messages.
These Funnels help you determine the shortest time taken by the end user to complete a process. You can identify the steps on which your end users are taking too much time.
A public certificate ensures the authenticity of the request and enables the IdP to validate the signature.
R
Relative refers to positioning or alignment that depends on the location or movement of another element. When content is positioned "relative" to an element, it changes its position or alignment based on that element's location on the page.
The Whatfix Rich Text Editor enables you to format content using multiple options. It also enables you to link and include multimedia content.

SCORM stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model. SCORM packages enable you to share web-based learning with ease and reuse it across different eLearning platforms.
The Secondary Button is used to close or dismiss the Pop-up without triggering any specific action.
The data stored is limited to a single browser session. If the user closes the tab or browser, the data is cleared.

The Task List is a widget that gives you the ability to assign a list of topics/tasks users must complete as part of a training program.
Text buttons are represented as text links and are used for less important actions than Primary and Secondary buttons. It has no background color or outline, just the text itself.
Whatfix's Product Analytics enables you to track end-user actions and behavior on a product or application.
Trend Insights turns your engagement-related queries, such as the number of users who have completed Flows or the number of users who have clicked the button on your Pop-up, into actionable insights.

User Attributes provide information about the characteristics of your users, like who they are, what their role is, which department they belong to, etc.
User Journey enables you to automatically analyze how an end user navigates through an application using User Actions and helps you understand the different paths they take to complete a task. For more information, see User Journey.

The Cloud Server was initially used to host all content created on the Whatfix platform. Most customers have transitioned to hosting content on CDN servers to enable a better and faster customer experience.
Whatfix Content includes Flows, Images, Videos, PDFs, Articles and Links.
The Whatfix Dashboard is where you can perform the following actions:
- Access all content that has been created by users in your organization.
- Access and manage content widgets like Self Help, Pop-ups, Smart tips, Beacons, and Task List
- Manage users
- Manage tags
- Access Analytics
- Manage translations
- Manage Tip or Flow configurations
Whatfix Mirror is an application simulation software that provides an immersive and interactive simulation of any web application.
Mirror workflow is the process plan for which you want to create the Mirror.
Whatfix Studio is a browser plug-in that enables you to create various types of Whatfix content, such as Flows, Smart Tips, Beacons, and so on. The plug-in can be installed on Google Chrome and the new Microsoft Edge browsers.
Whatfix Widgets include Pop Ups, Self Help, Task Lists, Beacons, Smart Tips and Launchers.
