Article summary

Introduction

A Funnel is a series of sequential events that track how your learners progress through a Mirror Workflow. Funnel Insights enable you to identify how many learners complete a Workflow, where they drop off, and how much time they spend on each step. Analyze the data to understand completion rates and identify steps with the highest drop-off.

Funnels help you understand:

  • How learners navigate through a Mirror Workflow.

  • Which steps in the Workflow have the highest drop-off or friction.

  • How much time learners spend on specific Mirror Screens.

Types of Funnels

There are two types of Funnels that you can create:

Conversion Funnel:

Conversion Funnels measure how effectively your learners progress through a Mirror Workflow and complete key actions. They reveal whether your learners are able to successfully perform the intended task or drop off before completion.

Example: In a “Lead Creation” Workflow, many learners drop off after the Add Details step, suggesting that they may need additional support to complete the process.

Productivity Funnel:

Productivity Funnels help you determine the shortest time taken by learners to complete a Mirror Workflow. Identify the steps on which learners are taking too much time. This helps you reduce friction and improve the completion rate.

Example: In a “Quote Approval” Workflow, learners take the most time on the “Manager Approval” step, indicating where support may be needed.

Benefits of Funnels

The Funnel view provides valuable insights into learners’ behavior within the Mirror. Funnels enable you to:

  • Track unique users who engage with the Mirror.

  • Calculate the percentage of learners who drop off at specific screens.

  • Measure the average time learners take to transition between screens.

Use Cases

  • Identify friction or drop-offs in complex workflows

Use a Funnel to analyze how your learners progress through each stage of a task and identify where they encounter friction or abandon the workflow. This helps highlight steps that require clearer guidance or additional practice.

Example: In a “New Opportunity Creation” Workflow, most learners drop off after the “Enter Customer Details” step, revealing a stage where further training could improve completion rates.

  • Measure learner proficiency and pace across workflows

Use a Funnel to analyze how quickly and confidently your learners complete a Workflow. This helps assess their familiarity with each process and reveals stages that require more time or repetition, even when they don’t drop off. Track the time between steps to identify potential bottlenecks or friction points within the workflow.

Example: In an “Onboarding Simulation” Workflow, learners spend the most time on the “Configure Settings” step. This indicates where they may need more clarity or practice to complete the task efficiently.
