Capture Mobile app screens using Whatfix Creator Widget

Capture screens from your mobile app

Use the following steps to capture your app screen using New Screen Capture Experience:

  1. Open the app from which you want to capture screens.

  2. Click the Whatfix Creator widget. The Creator Options tab enables you to Capture Screens and Preview Projects.

  3. Click Capture Screens to enter the screen capture mode.

A camera icon appears below the Whatfix Creator widget icon.

  1. Click the camera icon to initiate the screenshot capturing process. Whatfix Mobile starts capturing the current screenshot and the metadata about where it belongs in the app.

If you wish to cancel the capture operation, you can click the x icon. This takes you back to the previous state, and the capture process is aborted. Otherwise, you can proceed to the next step.

  1. Once the screenshot is captured, Whatfix Mobile uploads it to the Dashboard.

  • If the upload is successful, the capture button is re-enabled, indicating that you can capture additional screens, if needed.
  • Go to the App Screens section in the Whatfix Mobile Dashboard to access the captured app screens.
  • All captured screens are named as untitled.
  • You can manage your captured app screens and rename the screenshots as required.

Create content using the captured app screens

Use the following steps to create content using the captured app screens:

  1. On the Whatfix Mobile Dashboard, select the App on which you want to create a project.

  2. To create a new project, click + New.

  3. Select the project you want to create.

  4. Enter a name for your project.

  5. Enter the App Version or select the App Version using the dropdown.

  6. Click Create.

  7. On the left section of the Identify Screen window, click + Add screen.

  8. Select the screen where you want to create the content and click Add Screen.

  9. Identify the screen and design the content.

  • You can preview projects using the Whatfix Creator widget.

  • After creating and designing the project, click Publish to make it live for your end users. For more information on publishing Whatfix Mobile content, see Publish Whatfix Mobile content.
