What is the Demo Mode?
Implementing a new analytics platform comes with a learning curve. You may have enabled Whatfix Product Analytics (PA) for your application, but you’re unsure which data to track or where to begin analyzing user behavior in your application.
You may have the following questions:
What problems can I solve with Whatfix Product Analytics?
Which metrics or data points should I track?
How do I visualize that data and extract actionable insights?
How can those insights guide product decisions?
The Demo Mode removes these uncertainties by loading curated, industry‑specific sample datasets straight into your Whatfix Analytics Dashboard. From the moment you log in, explore Trend Insights, Funnel Insights, User Journeys, Dashboards, Cohorts, User lists, and Event groups with realistic data for function or industry, such as HR & Recruitment, Insurance, Manufacturing, and Sales in the Demo Mode.
Info:
Example: Suppose you’ve enabled PA on your HR platform but you haven’t started tracking live events. In the Demo Mode you open the Recruiter Activity & Platform Usage dashboard and see synthetic metrics such as 1,500 candidate searches, 621 template creations, and a Candidate Hiring Funnel that shows 62 % of applicants shortlisted and 45 % progressing to interview. Because these numbers are mock, you can safely experiment, apply filters, change chart types, or summarize with AI, while your real data pipeline is being set up.
The ready‑made industry-specific Demo Mode shows which events to track, what filters to apply, how to visualize data, and how to group users with similar behavior. View the prebuilt Insights, Dashboards, Cohorts, User lists, and Event groups, and create and customize your own Product Analytics features with the sample dataset. The Demo Mode gives you a clear starting point for instrumenting and analyzing your own product data. To access the Demo Mode, see Access the Demo Mode.

Note:
The Demo Mode uses sample data, which is provided by Whatfix. Any changes you make in the Demo Mode do not impact the analytics data captured from your application.
Use Cases
Explore analytics before implementation
Use the Demo Mode to discover what problems Product Analytics can solve, which end‑user interactions or workflows to track, and how to transform engagement data into meaningful insights before you capture events on your application. For example, open the HR & Recruitment - L&D Engagement Dashboard to inspect reports, such as Course Engagement by Department and Most Popular Courses. Understand what kind of events are tracked (for instance, Course started and Course ended are some events tracked) and how the data is visualized and filtered (such as filter by the most popular courses in Engineering). Use the Demo Mode as a starting point for your analytics journey.

Train new team members
New team members can use the Demo Mode to practice building Insights, applying filters and breakdowns, and editing reports with realistic numbers instead of empty graphs.
