Introduction

The Demo Mode provides a curated, industry-specific dataset in the Whatfix Analytics dashboard. It helps you explore the capabilities of Whatfix Product Analytics and plan your data strategy. Explore Trend Insights, Funnel Insights, User Journeys, Dashboards, Cohorts, User lists, Event groups, and Ask Whatfix AI with sample data for industries, such as HR & Recruitment, Insurance, Manufacturing, and Sales.

Use case

Consider that you have enabled Whatfix Product Analytics on your HR application.

Note:

The Demo Mode uses sample data, which is provided by Whatfix. Any changes you make in the Demo Mode do not impact the analytics data captured from your application.

Steps to enable and access the Demo Mode

Use the following steps to access the Demo Mode:

1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Explore Demo.

   

Info:

• Alternatively, on the Dashboards page, click Explore Now in the Experience Whatfix Analytics in Demo Mode banner to enable the Demo Mode. The banner appears only if you haven’t already enabled the Demo Mode using the Explore Demo option in the left navigation panel.

  

• The Experience Whatfix Analytics in Demo Mode banner also appears on the Insights page if you haven’t enabled Demo Mode yet. Click Explore Now on the banner to enable the Demo Mode from the Insights page.

  

• The Explore Demo option is always available in the left navigation panel. Use it anytime to enable or access Demo Mode.

  

2. On the Customize Your Demo Experience dialog box, select the industry for which you want to see data. For example, select HR & Recruitment.

   

3. Click Explore.

   

Whatfix redirects you to the Dashboards created in the Demo Mode for the specific industry. The following image shows the prebuilt Dashboards for the HR & Recruitment industry.

Once you enable Demo Mode, the entire Whatfix Analytics dashboard is on the Demo Mode. Explore the industry specific prebuilt Dashboards, Insights, Cohorts, User lists, Event groups, and Ask Whatfix AI features. Whatfix enables you to create and customize your own Dashboards, Insights, and other components, with the sample dataset provided in the Demo Mode.

Note:

The blue banner indicates that you’re on the Demo Mode for the specific industry.

4. Click the Dashboard which you want to explore.

   

Info:

The Dashboard displays all the key Insights tracked for the industry. For more information on Dashboards, see Custom Dashboards in Analytics and Create Custom Dashboards in Analytics.

5. Customize the Dashboard as required. The following are some of the customization options:

• View the Insights.

• View the description of the Insights.

• Open any Insight.

• Add Filters to the Insights in the Dashboard.

• Summarize the Insight with AI.

• Change the chart type of the Insights.

• Add Filters to the Dashboard.

• Change the timeframe of the Dashboard.

Note:

• You cannot save the customizations made to the prebuilt Dashboard and other features, such as Insights and Cohorts in the Demo Mode.

• Create a new Dashboard in the Demo Mode or create a copy of the prebuilt Dashboard to customize and save your own Dashboard. The same process needs to be done for Insights, Cohorts, and other components in the Demo Mode.

  

6. Explore other features in the Demo Mode for the same industry by navigating from the left navigation panel.

   

Note:

• Find prebuilt Insights, Cohorts, User lists, and Ask Whatfix AI for the selected industry. Explore the prebuilt templates and create your own to get started with Product Analytics.

• To switch the industry, click the dropdown in the banner and select the required industry.

  

7. Once you’re done exploring the Demo Mode, click Exit Demo.

   

   Note:

   If you’ve used the Experience Whatfix Analytics in Demo Mode banner in the Dashboards or Insights pages to enable and access the Demo Mode, use the Exit Demo option in the left navigation panel to disable the Demo Mode.

   

   The prebuilt reports with the sample dataset gives you an idea on how you can get started with your analytics journey. Start tracking your own events with User Actions or Autocapture, visualize the event data with Insights, group users based on their behavior with Cohorts, and provide targeted in-app guidance to solve the problems in your application with Whatfix’s Product Analytics.
