Article summary

Overview

Whatfix enables you to segment content to users based on attributes fetched at the application level.

Web applications contain multiple underlying attributes, some associated with a user and others not.

Enterprise Attributes represent application attributes that are not associated with the user. Examples include geography, department, account type, and more.

Use cases

Whatfix Enterprise Attributes enables you to fetch application information and use them in widget visibility rules for effective content segmentation.

For example, configure a Pop-up to display only to users logging in from the EMEA region.

Info:

Use Enterprise Attributes for use cases where end-user related segmentation is not required.

Create an Enterprise attribute

Use the following steps to create an Enterprise Attribute:

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Settings.
    ia_pa_dashboard_settings

  2. Click App integrations.

    RB_dashboard_int_ent_attribute_popup

  7. Click Save.

Note:

As a best practice, ensure that the EnterpriseID attribute is created for your account. This is to ensure that your integrations do not fail.

Assign values to the Enterprise Attribute

Use the Enterprise Attribute as a Visibility Rule

Upon completion of the first integration run, these attributes become available in the Visibility Rules section of widgets for content segmentation.

Use the following steps to add Enterprise Ettributes as visibility rules:

  1. Go to the Visibility section of any widget.
    RB_dashboard_widgets_VR

  2. Select the Enterprise Attribute condition from the dropdown menu.
    enterprise_attributes

  3. Select the desired Attribute for the visibility rules and enter its value.

  4. Complete the widget creation and save it.
