Overview
A Display Name is the name that your end users see for your Whatfix content. The Name remains the internal name you use to manage the content on the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard and in Whatfix Studio.
Add a Display Name to keep internal naming conventions, such as region, release, or module codes, out of the labels that appear to your end users. For example, you can use “EMEA_R3_HR_Onboarding_v2” as the Name of a Flow for internal tracking. Users then see the Display Name, ”Complete your onboarding” in the Self Help or Task List widget.

You can add a Display Name to the following content types:
In-app content: Flows, Smart Tips, Beacons, and Launchers
Static content: Articles, Links, Videos, Images, and PDFs
Whatfix shows the Display Name in the following locations:
Self Help and Task List: Users see the Display Name instead of the Name.
All content and All widgets lists: The Display Name column shows the Display Name of each item.
Dashboard search: Search finds content by its Display Name.
Note:
On the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, search results show matches on the Name first, and then matches on the Display Name.
Exports and Download PDF: Exported files show the Display Name instead of the Name.
Analytics: The Content Title Shown value logs the Display Name in the language you end users see.
Note:
Existing content continues to show the Name to users until you add a Display Name.
Translate Display Names the same way you translate Titles, including with Translate all. For more information, see Translate Whatfix Content.
