Add a Survey to a Beacon

Whatfix enables you to add a Survey to a Beacon by creating a Link for the Survey from the Whatfix Dashboard, and then attaching the Link to the Beacon.

Step 1: Create a Link for the Survey
Step 2: Attach the Link to the Beacon

Use the following steps to create a Link for your Survey:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.

  2. Click Surveys.

  3. Click the Production tab.

  4. Hover your cursor over the required Survey, and then click the Share icon.

  1. Click Add as link in Whatfix.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Enter a Title Prefix.

The prefix title distinguishes the Survey link from other links on the dashboard.

  1. Click Add Survey.

You can view the Link that you just created in the Draft Stage of the Dashboard.

There are two ways to attach a Survey to a Beacon:

Attach the Survey link to a Beacon Segment

Attaching the Link to a Beacon Segment enables end users to open the survey by clicking a Beacon. You can also customize the Beacon to open the Survey when end users click the element the Beacon is attached to.

Note

The attached content starts based on the Disappear Beacon setting you configure when creating it.

Use the following steps to attach the Link to the Beacon:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.

  2. Click Beacons.

  1. Hover your cursor over the Beacon segment you want to edit, and then click the Edit icon.

  2. In the Attach Content section, click Attach Content.

  3. Select the Survey Link.

  4. Click Okay.

  5. Click Save.

Attach the Survey link using the Rich Text Editor

Use the following steps to attach the Link to Text in the Tooltip:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.

  2. Click All content.

  1. Click the Survey Link you just created.

  2. Copy the Survey Link URL.

  3. Hover your cursor over the Beacon Collection, and then click the Edit icon.

  4. Click Edit on the Beacon you want to edit.

  5. In the Beacon description, select the text to which you want to attach the Link.

  6. In the Rich Text Editor, click the Link icon.

  7. Paste the Survey Link URL.

  9. Click Save Step.
