Configure how Users Interact with Self Help Content

Configure the Interaction in Old Self Help

Note:

The old Self Help experience will be deprecated after June 2025. If you'd like to enable the Improved Self Help experience earlier, contact support@whatfix.com.

Use the following steps to configure the Interaction:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Style.

  2. Click Self Help.

  1. Click Interaction.

  2. In the Execute Links section, configure the following:
    RB_DB_SH_executelinks1

  • On same page: Displays the link in a popup on the application page.

  • Configure how the link popup appears for your end user using the following options,

    • Where Self Help is positioned: The popup opens where the Self Help widget is placed on your application.
    • Right Align: The popup opens on the right side of your application.
    • Left Align : The popup opens on the left side of your application.
    • Center Align: The popup opens at the center of your application.

  • Change the size of the link pop-up using the dropdown.

  • On new page: Opens the link on a new tab.
Note:

On Mac machines, if the browser is in full screen or maximized mode, the link opens in a new tab instead of a popup. To avoid this, exit from full screen to minimized mode for the link to open in a popup.

  1. In the Execute Flows section, make the following configurations:
    RB_DB_SH_executeflows
  • On Same Page: Runs the Flow on the same application page
  • On New Page: Opens the application on a new tab and runs the Flow
  • As Pop-up: Displays the Flow information pop-up and runs the Flow when the user clicks Guide Me
  • As Slideshow: Displays the Flow in a slideshow format
  1. Click Save.

Ensure that you push the changes made to Production so that the latest behavior is reflected for end users.

Configure the Interaction in Improved Self Help

Use the following steps to configure the Interaction:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Style.

  2. In the Execute Pdfs and Links section, configure the following:

  • On same page: Displays the Pdfs and Links in a popup on the application page.
