Whatfix will not support the Code Editor for all new Whatfix accounts created after June 1, 2024.

For existing accounts that still have AC code, the Code Editor will remain as read only. However, the AC code changes cannot be previewed using the Preview mode within Whatfix Studio.

You have to install Whatfix’s Preview extension to preview AC code changes. For more information on installing Preview extension, see Install the Whatfix Preview extension in Google Chrome.

You can perform most tasks on Whatfix using the Whatfix user interface. For tasks that are not as frequently used, you can use certain snippets of code to perform advanced actions using Whatfix. Each action can be enabled by copying the respective code into the code editor window as explained below.

Use the following steps to access Advanced customization:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.
    ia_left_nav_settings

  2. Click Advanced customisation.
    ia_settings_advanced%20configuration

  1. Advanced users can write their own code snippet for the desired action, paste it in the window, and then click the Save button.

Manage Advanced customization script history

The code panel helps to maintain the history of scripts. It maintains a repository of the last ten script changes that were made and saved.

Versions of the Advanced customization script are listed in the dropdown option with the date and time of the modification.
