The tooltip position of every Flow must be appropriately placed so that it doesn't obstruct the end user's view of important information on the application. While it is positioned automatically by Whatfix in most cases, you can select the best position for viewing the tooltip content.
You can change the position of the tooltip in two instances:
During Flow Creation
Change the tooltip position while creating a Flow using Whatfix Studio.
Log in to the application where you want to create content, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.
Click Flow.
Enter the name of the Flow as you want it displayed to the users.
Click Add Step.
Under Choose step type, select the Flow step type.
Note:
- With the Flow enhancement feature, you have the option to select two types of Flow steps, and not just element latching Flows. A dialog box appears on the application to highlight the two types of Flows. Under Choose step type, select a Flow step based on your requirements: either Attached to element or Free-floating.

You also have the option to select a default template by clicking Set as Default for all the subsequent steps in a Flow. If you change the default step at an enterprise (ENT) level, it appears the same for all the users using that ENT.

- Click the desired element on the page that the user needs to select.
- Review or edit the auto generated action text on the step.

Enter any additional information that you want to provide in the description section of the tooltip.
- Under Configurations, expand Position and select the desired position of the tooltip.
Note:
Some positions may not be available based on the element location on the page. This way Whatfix recommends the best position for a tooltip.
- Click Save Step to finish creating the step, and then continue creating the Flow.
Post Flow Creation
Change the Flow tooltip position on Whatfix Dashboard at the Draft stage of a Flow. If you want to edit a published Flow, Edit a Flow, change the tooltip position, and then re-publish the Flow.
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.
Click Flows.
Hover your cursor over the Flow you want to update, and then click the Edit icon.
Go to the step and then click the Edit icon.
Scroll down to the Position section on the Dashboard and select a position for the Flow step.
Change the position of the tooltip.
Click Save.
