Whatfix enables you to add audio to a Flow step where you need to provide detailed explanations for the selected element or the action to be performed on the element.


Prerequisite

Any audio clip that you want to insert in a Flow step has to be first hosted on an online file-hosting website such as Dropbox or OneDrive.

The audio file formats supported by Whatfix are .mp3, .AAC, .m4a, and .ogg.


Insert an audio clip in a Flow Step

Use the following steps to insert an audio clip in a Flow step:

  1. Log in to the application where you want to create content, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.

  2. Click Flow.

  3. Enter the name of the Flow as you want it displayed to the users.

  4. Click + Add Step.

  5. Click the desired element on the page that the user needs to select.

  1. Review or edit the auto-generated action text on the step.

  2. Click the Description section of the tooltip and select the Insert Audio icon from the Rich Text Editor.

  3. Copy the audio URL from the online file sharing website and paste the URL.

    Note
    • To enable direct playback of audio files from Dropbox, add "&raw=1" at the end of the Dropbox URL. This ensures that the audio file is streamed in its raw format, enabling it to play without any additional formatting.

    • To play the audio automatically when the Flow Tooltip appears on the element, select the Auto Play Audio checkbox.

    • When the Auto Play Audio option is cleared, the audio gets played only when end users click the Play icon on the Flow tooltip.

  4. Click Insert.

    Note

    Once the audio is inserted, you can click it to see the edit options.

    The following are the Edit options you can choose from:

    • Replace: Enables you to replace the video in case you have added the wrong one.
    • Remove: Enables you to remove the audio.
  5. Under CONFIGURATIONS, choose the desired position of the tooltip.

  6. Click Save Step.

    Click Preview to preview the Flow during the Flow creation on Studio. The Flow opens in a new tab and displays the steps that are created on the application.

  7. Click + Add Step to add the next step.

    Display Rules enable you to configure Flows to display the tooltip only when pre-determined conditions are met.

    Use the following steps to add Display Rules to Flow steps:

    a. Click ADVANCED OPTIONS.

    b. Expand the Display Rules section and then click + Add Rule. Display Rules enable you to configure Flows to display the tooltip only when pre-determined conditions are met.

    c. Set the desired conditions. For more information on the different conditions that can be used in Display Rules, see Visibility and Display Rule Conditions

    d. Click + Add Rule to add more conditions, if needed.

  8. Click Save Flow.
