Inserting an Audio Clip in a Flow Step

Overview

Whatfix enables you to add audios to a Flow step where you need to provide detailed explanations for the selected element or the action to be performed on the element.

Pre requisite

Any audio clip that you want to insert in a Flow step has to be first hosted in an online file hosting website like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.

Note

The audio file formats supported by Whatfix are .mp3, .AAC, .m4a, and .ogg .


Inserting an audio in a Flow Step

Use the following process to insert an audio clip in a Flow Step:

  1. Log in to the application where you want to create content, and then launch the Whatfix Editor.

  2. Click Flow.

  3. Enter the name of the Flow as you want it displayed to an end-user.

  4. Click +Step.

  5. Click the desired element on the page that the end-user needs to select.

  6. Review/Edit the auto-generated action text on the step.

Note

The maximum character limits for the Purpose and Description of the step are 200 characters and 400 characters, respectively. However, you can increase the character limits by contacting [email protected].

  1. Move the cursor to a new line and click the Plus icon.

  2. Click the Insert Audio icon.

Note

You can add audio clips to the Purpose of this step section as well.

  1. Copy the audio URL from the online file sharing website and paste the URL.

Note
  • To play the audio automatically when the Flow Tooltip appears on the element, click the Auto Play Audio checkbox.

  • When the Auto Play Audio option is disabled, the audio gets played only when the end-user clicks the play button on the Flow Tooltip.

  1. Click Insert.

Note

Once the audio is inserted, you can click it to see the edit options.

The Edit options you can choose from are:

  • Replace: In case you added the wrong audio, you can replace it using this option.
  • Remove: Enables you to remove the audio.
  1. Click Add Step to finish creating the step and then, continue creating the Flow.
