Upgrade your Branched Flow steps to the new Visibility Rules

Whatfix enables you to configure new Visibility Rules for branched Flow steps, providing a unified way to define when, where, and to whom your branched Flow steps appear.

To make use of the new Visibility Rules, you must upgrade your existing branching steps from the old Branching Rules to the new Visibility Rules.

Note:
Upgrading branched steps is only supported at the Flow collection level. This means:
All branched steps in a Flow must be eligible for the upgrade.
You cannot upgrade the Flow if even one branched step is ineligible.
For example, you have a Flow with two branched steps, and one step is ineligible for the upgrade. In this case, the Flow cannot be upgraded. Only Flows where all branched steps are eligible can be upgraded.
If your content is ineligible for an upgrade due to any limitations, you see the Upgrade unavailable for Branching Visibility Rules banner.

Upgrade your branched steps to use the new Visibility Rules experience

Prerequisites for upgrading:
To upgrade your existing branched steps to the new Visibility Rules experience, ensure that new Visibility Rules are already enabled for your account. For more information, see new Visibility Rules for Content.

Upgrade your branched steps to the new Visibility Rules using Whatfix Studio

Use the following steps to upgrade your existing branched steps to the new Visibility Rules using Whatfix Studio:

On the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, click Content.
Click Flows.
Hover your cursor over the Flow you want to edit, and then click the Edit icon.
Click Launch live edit.

Info:
Once Whatfix Studio launches on the application, you see the Upgrade available for Branching Rules banner at the Flow collection level.
If your content is ineligible for an upgrade due to any limitations, you see the Upgrade unavailable for Branching Visibility Rules banner at the Flow collection level. For more information, contact support@whatfix.com.
On the Upgrade available for Branching Rules banner, click Upgrade now.
Click Upgrade.
Note:
When you click Upgrade, Whatfix converts all existing Branching Rules to the new Visibility Rules.
Once the upgrade is complete, go to branched Flow step, click BRANCHING RULES, and add any additional new Visibility Rules as required.
Click Save Branch.

Note:
If the content is not saved after the upgrade, you need to repeat the upgrade process using the steps 1 to 8.
Preview the widget using Preview mode and then push the widget to Production.

Upgrade your branched Flow steps to the new Visibility Rules using the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard

Use the following steps to upgrade your existing content to the new Visibility Rules using the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard:

On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.
Click Flows.
Hover your cursor over the Flow you want to edit, and then click the Edit icon.

In the Flow Edit Mode, you see the Upgrade available for Branching Rules banner at the Flow collection level.
If your content is ineligible for an upgrade due to any limitations, you see the Upgrade unavailable for Branching Visibility Rules banner. For more information, contact support@whatfix.com.
Click Upgrade now.
On the Upgrade to advanced visibility rules dialog box, click Upgrade.
Note:
When you click Upgrade, Whatfix converts all existing Branching Rules to the new Visibility Rules.
After the upgrade, go to the branched Flow step, click Branching Rules, and add any additional new Visibility Rules as required.
Click Save to save the Flow.
Note:
If the content is not saved after the upgrade, you need to repeat the upgrade process using the steps 1 to 7.
Preview the widget using Preview mode and then push the widget to Production.
