Using the command line based installation method, end users or IT administrators install, configure, and manage DAP on OS by running text commands into a Command Line Interface (CLI) such as Terminal for MacOS or Command Prompt for Windows.
Prerequisite
Ensure that you have an Org ID. If not, contact Whatfix Representative to get Org ID.
Install DAP on OS
Use Command Prompt or PowerShell for Windows and Terminal for MacOS to install DAP on OS.
Windows
Use the following steps to install the DAP on OS using the Command Prompt:

Download the preferable DAP on OS' MSI installer from the following addons URL:
- User Level Installer
For US accounts For EU accounts Download Download - System Level Installer
For US accounts For EU accounts Download Download -
Open Windows Command Prompt and then type cd
to change the current directory to the downloaded folder. -
Run the following command to install the WhatfixHubInstaller file.
msiexec.exe /i WhatfixPlayerInstaller.msi ORG=“OrgID” /q /l*v out.txt -
Press the Enter key.
Note
If there is no error message, the installation is successful.
- When the installation is complete, open the DAP on OS app to view Whatfix content.
MacOS
Note:
DAP on OS installation files differ based on Mac's OS processor type, download accordingly.
Use the following steps to install DAP on OS:

Download the installation file based on your MacOS’s Processor type.
Download Download MacOS Silicon MacOS Intel -
Unzip the downloaded file.

Open Terminal and then run the following command to change the directory to the folder where DAP on OS is downloaded.
cd WhatfixHub/ -
Run the following command with your respective
org_id../whatfixhub_installer.sh -org {org_id}
Once the installation is complete, the DAP on OS app starts automatically.
