Customize Mirror Nudges

Customisations in Mirror is a Beta feature and is supported only for Cloud deployments. To enable this feature, contact support@whatfix.com.

Whatfix Mirror enables you to customize Mirror Nudge settings for the elements your learner interacts with on each Mirror Screen. You can adjust the nudge to match your application’s branding, control when it appears, and choose how it draws attention to a target element.

For example, in an onboarding Workflow, you can set the Mirror Nudge to your brand color and configure it to appear after a learner makes two incorrect clicks. This gives your learners a chance to try each step independently before the Nudge appears.

Note:
Mirror Nudge customisations are account-level settings and apply to all Mirror Screens across your Workflows and Simulations.
Mirror Nudge settings apply in both SCORM and non-SCORM deployments, and in Playground Mode. For more information, see Export a Mirror Workflow as a SCORM Package and Understand Playground Mode.
Mirror Nudge settings apply to Workflows in all languages. A Language Variant reflects the settings applied to its default language variant. For more information, see Multi-Language Support in Mirror.

Use the following steps to customize the learner experience in Mirror:

On the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard, click Settings.
Click Customisations.
Under Nudges, turn the Enable toggle on or off based on your preference. By default, Whatfix enables Mirror Nudges for all Mirror Workflows and Simulations.
Note:
- When you disable Mirror Nudges, Whatfix removes them from all Mirror Screens in your Workflows and Simulations. Learners can still interact with each screen, but the Mirror Nudge no longer highlights the target element they need to click. To restore Mirror Nudges, re-enable the toggle save the customisation settings.
- When you disable Mirror Nudges, the Appearance and Interactions settings become unavailable. Re-enable Mirror Nudges again to access these settings.
Under Appearance, set the Number of attempts before a Mirror Nudge appears. For example, set it to 2 to show the nudge after a learner makes two incorrect clicks so learners attempt each step independently and receive assistance only when they need it.
Note:
By default, the Number of attempts is set to 1, and the Nudge appears after the learner's first incorrect click. The attempt count resets when the learner reaches a new Mirror Screen within the Workflow or refreshes the page.
Click the Color icon.
Select a color using the color picker, or enter a hex code to specify the Nudge color. For example, you can use your application’s primary brand color to make the nudge appear native to the application.
Tip:
Select a color for the nudge that contrasts with your captured Mirror Screens. A Mirror Nudge in a color close to the background of a screen is hard for learners to see.
In the Appearance style section, you can choose one of the following appearance styles to highlight the target element:
- Hollow: Outlines the target element while keeping the rest of the screen unchanged. This style works well for dense screens where surrounding details need to remain visible.
- Glass Panel: Dims the screen and highlights the target element through a translucent panel. This style works well for sparse screens where the target needs to stand out.

Under Interactions, in the Style section, choose how the Mirror Nudge animates to attract attention. You can choose one of the following options:
- Beam: A focused beam of light sweeps across the Mirror Nudge.
- Pulsate: The Mirror Nudge gently grows and shrinks in a continuous pulse.
- Ripple: A ripple effect expands outward from the Mirror Nudge.
- Shadow: A subtle shadow effect draws attention to the Mirror Nudge.

Click Save.

When you save changes to Mirror Nudge customisations, Whatfix applies them to Workflows and Simulations in the Draft and Ready stages.
Click Publish all to apply the Mirror Nudge customisations to Workflows and Simulations in the Production stage. This ensures your learners see the updated Mirror Nudge the next time they access a Workflow or Simulation.
Click Publish all again to confirm.
