Export a Mirror Roleplay as a SCORM Package

Prev Next

Whatfix enables you to export a Mirror Roleplay as a SCORM package for use in a Learning Management System (LMS). The exported package is compatible with SCORM-compliant LMSs. When you export a Roleplay as a SCORM package, your learners can access the Mirror Workflow with Roleplay interactions embedded directly from their Learning Management System (LMS).

To export a Roleplay as a SCORM package, you must first create a Roleplay and attach it to a Mirror Workflow. For more information, see Create a Roleplay and Attach a Roleplay in Mirror.

You must then link the associated Guidance Flow to the Mirror Workflow’s Production stage URL and export the SCORM package from the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard.

Prerequisites:

Create a Guidance Flow that captures the steps of the process you want learners to practice before you export a Mirror Workflow as a SCORM package.

  • If the Mirror Workflow is created using Auto Flow Creation, the Guidance Flow is created automatically during capture. For more information, see Auto Flow Creation.

  • If the Mirror Workflow is not created using Auto Flow Creation, create the Guidance Flow separately on the base application before you export the SCORM package. For more information, see Create a Flow.

Info:

When Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) Guidance content is present for the Mirror Workflow such as Pop-ups, Smart Tips or Beacons, is present for the Mirror Workflow, it appears in the exported SCORM package only if both the Mirror Workflow and the associated DAP widget(s) are in the Production stage. For more information, see Create DAP Guidance on Mirror.

Step 1: Attach a Roleplay to a Workflow

Note:

You must first create a Roleplay before you can attach it to a Workflow. For more information, see Create a Roleplay.

Before you export a Roleplay as a SCORM package, you must attach the Roleplay to a Mirror Workflow and enable Roleplay for the Workflow.

For more information, see Attach a Roleplay in Mirror.

Info:

To verify whether a Roleplay is attached and enabled for a Workflow, check for the Roleplay enabled badge beside the Workflow, as shown in the following image.

Step 2: Add the Mirror Workflow URL to the Guidance Flow

Note:

Before you link a Guidance Flow to a Mirror Workflow, you must first publish the Workflow to the Production stage. For more information, see Publish Whatfix Mirror.

Use the following steps to add the Mirror Workflow URL to the Guidance Flow:

  1. On the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard, click Production.

  2. Hover your cursor over the Mirror Workflow you want to export.

  3. Click the More icon.

  4. Click Share.

  5. Under Workflow without roleplay, click Copy to export the interactive Workflow with Roleplay interactions embedded.

    Note:

If you click Copy for the Workflow with roleplay link, the exported SCORM package runs in the Slideshow mode.

  6. Click the Product switcher icon to go to the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard.

  7. Click Whatfix Guidance.

  8. On the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, click Content.

  9. Click Flows.

  10. Click the Edit icon for the Flow you want to export.

  11. Click Details.

  12. Under URL, paste the copied Mirror Workflow URL.

  13. Click Save.

  14. Click All Content.

  15. Select the Flow linked to the Mirror Workflow using the checkbox.

  16. In the Draft stage, click Send to Ready.

  17. Click Ready, and then select the Flow using the checkbox.

  18. Click Publish.

Step 3: Download the SCORM Package

Note:

The SCORM package includes only Flows in the Production stage.

Use the following steps to export a SCORM package:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, click Settings.

  2. Click Flow export.

  3. Based on your requirements, choose one of the following:
All flows: To export all the Flows available in the Production stage of the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard. By default, the All flows option is chosen.

By tag: Enter and select the Tags associated with the Flows that you want to export.

    Note:

    • When you choose All flows, the exported SCORM package includes every Flow in the Production stage available in the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, including Flows that are not associated with a Mirror Workflow.

    • Flows that use a live application source URL and not the Mirror Workflow URL appear only in Slideshow mode and are not interactive. For more information, see Embed a Flow as a Slideshow.

  4. Enter a Title for the course.

Info:

Use the following options to customize the SCORM export:

  • Select the Do not show slideshow checkbox to present the Flows as an interactive, step-by-step experience where your learners can perform actions directly on the application using the See live experience. If you select the Do not show slideshow checkbox, it automatically disables the Mark the course as completed if user goes through slideshow checkbox.

  • Select the Mark the course as completed if user goes through slideshow checkbox to display the Flow as done only if the user completes the slideshow. If you select the Mark the course as completed if user goes through slideshow checkbox, it automatically disables the Do not show slideshow checkbox.

  • Select the Order flows checkbox to change the order of appearance of the Flows to your learners. Rearrange each Flow by title based on your requirements.

  • Select the Do not include Mirror Roleplay checkbox if you want the exported SCORM package to contain only the Workflow without Roleplay interactions. This applies even when a Roleplay is attached to the Workflow with Roleplay enabled.

  1. Click Export Scorm.

  2. Click Download.

Info:

After you download the SCORM package, a .zip file containing the Flows is downloaded to your local drive. Upload this .zip file directly to your LMS and make it available to learners as a course. Learners can then access the Mirror Workflow simulation directly from the LMS.
