Smart Edits in Mirror

Whatfix Mirror enables you to review captured Mirror Bildschirms and identify content that might contain sensitive information using Smart Edits. Smart Edits provides AI-powered suggestions for both text and image edits, such as updating UI labels, modifying text, adjusting UI elements, or redacting images. You can review the suggested changes and apply them to the relevant screens as needed, reducing the effort required to review and update Mirror Screens across a Mirror Workflow.

For example, if a captured Mirror Screen contains an email address or a chart with financial data, Smart Edits highlights the relevant elements and suggests edits to redact or replace them before you share the Workflow with learners.

After you capture screens for a Workflow, Whatfix automatically analyzes the screens and highlights elements that might contain sensitive data. This can include details such as email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, financial information, government identification numbers, or other personal identifiers that should not appear in training content.

When sensitive information is detected, the following notification appears at the top of the screen:

Sensitive information detected.
AI has detected potential PII in one or more screens. Please review and redact.

Note:
Smart Edits suggestions appear only after you capture Mirror Screens and they become available in Whatfix Studio or when you preview them from the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard. Smart Edits does not provide suggestions before you capture a Mirror Screen.

Whatfix Studio

After you capture Mirror Screens for a Workflow using Whatfix Studio, Whatfix highlights the screens that contain potential sensitive information with a yellow outline.

Use the following steps to review and apply Smart Edits suggestions in Whatfix Studio:

Launch Whatfix Studio on your application.
Click Mirror.

Click Start Mirroring.
Enter a name for your Workflow.
Click Create.
Select the UI element to capture the screen.
Click the Done icon after you have captured the required Mirror Screens.
Note:
If Whatfix detects sensitive information in one or more screens of your Workflow, the following message appears in Whatfix Studio:
Click the Edit icon of the screen you want to review.

A new tab opens, displaying the selected Mirror Screen.
Click the Edit icon.
Click the Suggestions icon.
Note:
When you apply a Smart Edit recommendation, the change permanently updates the content on the Mirror Screen. You cannot restore the original content after you apply the change.
Review the suggestions and apply the required changes to censor or modify the highlighted content.
Click Apply.

Whatfix Mirror Dashboard

After you capture Mirror Screens for a Workflow, you can preview them from the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard to review and apply Smart Edits suggestions.

Use the following steps to review and apply Smart Edits suggestions from the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard:

On the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard, click the required Mirror Workflow.
Click the More icon of the Mirror Screen you want to preview.
Click Preview.
Launch Whatfix Studio.
Click Mirror.
Click the Edit icon.
Click the Recommendations icon.
Note:
When you apply a Smart Edit recommendation, the change permanently updates the content on the Mirror Screen. You cannot restore the original content after you apply the change.
Review the suggestions and apply the required changes to censor or modify the highlighted content.
Click Apply.

Preview the Mirror Screen to verify the experience before sharing the Workflow with learners. For more information, see Preview a Mirror Screen.
