Replace an Image on a Mirror Screen

Whatfix Mirror enables you to replace images on captured Mirror Bildschirms with an alternative image. Use the functionality when you need to remove a sensitive or confidential visual entirely, rather than partially obscuring it. This is useful when the image contains Persönlich identifizierbare Informationen (PII) or sensitive business data, such as profile pictures, employee records, or confidential charts, that blurring alone cannot adequately protect.

For example, replace an image of a chart that contains confidential company data with a placeholder image before publishing the Workflow, ensuring your learners are not exposed to sensitive business information.

Note:
You can blur an image on a Mirror Screen only when the Workflow is in the Draft stage. Workflows in the Ready and Production stages do not appear in Whatfix Studio.
To replace an image the file size of the file uploaded must be less than 10 MB.

Replace an Image Before Screen Capture

Use the following steps to replace an image on a Mirror Screen before screen capture:

Launch Whatfix Studio on your application.
Click Mirror.

Click Start Mirroring.
Enter a name for your Workflow.
Click Create.
Go to the desired screen where you want to make edits before you capture the screen.
On the minimized Studio, click the Edit icon.
On the screen, select the image you want to replace.
Note:
When you replace an image, you permanently update it on the Mirror Screen. You cannot restore the original image after you apply the change.
Under Select redaction type, choose Replace images.
Click Choose File.
Select the image you want to replace from your device.
Click Open.
Based on your requirements, choose the scope of your edit:
• Apply to instance: Apply the edit only to the selected image on the current screen.
• Apply to this screen: Apply the edit to all instances of the image on the current screen.
• Apply to all screens in this workflow: Apply the edit to every instance of the image across all screens within the workflow.
Click Apply.
Select additional images on the screen and repeat the steps above to apply further edits.

Replace an Image After Screen Capture

Use the following steps to replace an image on a Mirror Screen after screen capture:

On the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard, hover your cursor over the Workflow that contains an image you want to replace.
Click the More icon of the Mirror screen you want to preview.
Click Preview.
Launch Whatfix Studio on the Mirror Screen.
Click Mirror.
Click the Mirror Screen you want to edit, and then click the Edit icon.
On the screen, select the image you want to replace.
