Article summary

Whatfix enables you to publish and share Mirrors to provide users access to a simulated environment without granting direct access to the application. Whatfix Mirrors function independently of the Whatfix DAP platform; end users do not need to install or embed Whatfix to interact with Mirrors.

Expand the following accordions to learn how to publish and share your Mirrors:

Publish Workflows

Use the following steps to publish Workflows and Simulations:

  1. On the Mirror Dashboard, go to the Draft stage.

  2. Select the Workflows and Simulations you want to publish.

    Info

You can choose to move either workflows or simulation individually using the same steps.

  3. Click Send to Ready.

    Note:

If you have not configured SIngle Sign-on (SSO) for Mirror, Whatfix displays the following message when you try to move Mirrors to the Ready stage:

    - If you choose to Move workflows and simulations without configuring SSO, the links generated are public and anyone with the link can access its contents.

    - If SSO is enabled for your account, users have to provide their login information and sign in before they can access the Mirror.

  4. Select the Workflows and Simulations in the Ready stage, and then click Publish.

    Note:

You are once again reminded that SSO is not configured. Click Publish to publish your Mirrors.

Share Whatfix Mirror

Note:

  • You can no longer share workflows from the Whatfix Studio. The Mirror Dashboard enables you to do the same.

  • The Mirror Dashboard enables you to share individual Workflows or Simulations that contain multiple workflows.

  • You can only share Workflows and Simulations in the Ready or Production stages.

Based on your requirements, you can share workflows and simulations in both Ready and Production stages. Consider the following examples:

Ready Stage Mirrors: Share workflows and simulations in the Ready stage for review and with your partners.
Production Stage Mirrors: Share the finalized and reviewed Mirrors with your end users.

Expand the following to view how to share Whatfix Mirror Workflows and Simulations:

  3. Click Share.

  4. Click Copy and share with your end users.

Share a Mirror Simulation

Perform the following to share simulations to your end users:

Note:

  • If you want to share simulations in Ready, perform similar steps as follows in the Ready stage.

  1. On the Whatfix Mirror dashboard, go to the Production stage.

  2. Select the simulation that you want to share.

  3. Hover over a workflow that you want to act as a starting point in the simulation, and then click the More icon.

    Note

The workflow that you choose to share acts as the starting point of the Mirror. Users can navigate and explore other workflows that are part of this simulation. Ensure that Playground Mode is enabled for such Simulations. For more information, see Create Simulations and add Workflows.

  4. Click Share.

  5. Click Copy and share with your end users.

Share the Whatfix Mirror URL directly with your end users through various methods, including email or any messaging application of your choice. End users can access the simulated application environment captured within the Mirror when you share the Whatfix Mirror URL.
