Article summary

Whatfix Mirror is an innovative solution that enables organizations to simulate any web application. The simulations can then be used for various use cases such as training, onboarding, and so on.

End users can interact with the content within a simulated environment. This facilitates user training and task completion as it provides step-by-step guidance in an isolated environment. This eliminates the risk of unwanted errors in the live application.

Mirror also supports DAP content.

Use the following steps to create a Mirror:

Define the target workflow, which is, outline the step-by-step procedure before you create a simulation of your web application. By defining the target workflow and its steps, you ensure that the mirrored environment replicates the workflow accurately.

  1. Log in to the application that you want to simulate and then launch Whatfix Studio.
    CLM_editor plug in2

  2. Click Mirror.

  3. Click Start Mirroring.

Mirror screens are auto linked as you perform the workflow steps when creating the Mirror. The capture process functions similarly to a screen recording. To start screen capture, simply begin performing the desired interactions with the web application. The Mirror will automatically link the Mirror screens.

  • Each Mirror Screen is captured based on a single UI element.
  • The selected UI element represents an interactive element in the web application. Clicking it may also trigger navigation or an action within the live web application. This is expected behavior, as the UI element selection process essentially interacts with the live application to define the capture area.
  • Based on your requirement, choose to select multiple UI elements as a sequence of screens that are automatically linked in the same sequence as they are captured. Whatfix Mirror then displays the screens in the order of capture. If you want to change the order of the mirror screens, see Manually link a Mirror screen.
