Tag Autocaptured events

Whatfix enables you to add Other tags to the Autocaptured events. Other tags help you group Autocaptured events for easier management. For example, a tag called 'q3-new-feature' can be used to group all Autocaptured events that are part of a new feature release.

Tag Autocaptured events while saving them using Whatfix Studio
Use the following steps to tag Autocaptured events while saving them using Whatfix Studio:
Log in to your application, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.
Under EVENTS, click Track event.
Click Refresh page.
Info:
Whatfix refreshes the page, and the Preview Mode is enabled.
Under the Top undefined events section, click the Preview icon next to an Autocaptured event. Whatfix automatically generates names for most Undefined Autocaptured events.
Note:
Previewing the location of the Autocaptured event in the UI helps you understand which event is being tracked and decide whether to save it.
Preview the event location in the UI highlighted by the red rectangle on your page.
If you want to save the event, in Whatfix Studio, go to the Autocaptured event you previewed, and then click the Add name icon.
In Whatfix Studio, review the auto-generated name or edit the name as needed.
Under Tags (Optional), enter the tag name to select from the list.
Note:
If the tag does not exist, type in the name of the tag and press the Enter key on your keyboard to create a new tag.
Click Save Action.
Note:
Autocaptured events do not need to be pushed to Production.
Tag Autocaptured events after saving them using Whatfix Studio
Use the following steps to tag Autocaptured events after saving them using Whatfix Studio:
Log in to your application, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.
Under EVENTS, click Track event.
Click Refresh page.
Info:

Go to the Defined events section, and then click the Search user action icon.
Enter the name of the Autocaptured event that you want to tag.
Click the Autocaptured event.
Under Tags (Optional), enter the tag name to select from the list.
Note:
If the tag does not exist, type in the name of the tag and press the Enter key on your keyboard to create a new tag.
Click Save Action.
Note:
Updates made to tags do not need to be pushed to Production for Autocaptured events.
Tag Autocaptured events using the Whatfix Analytics dashboard
Use the following steps to tag Autocaptured events using the Whatfix Analytics dashboard:
On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Tracking.
Click Events.
Note:
Autocaptured events are denoted by the Type, for instance, Click - Autocapture.
Select the Autocaptured event that you want to tag.
Click Tag.
Note:
If you want to tag multiple Autocaptured events, select the required Autocaptured events, and then click the Tag icon.
If you’re tagging multiple Autocaptured events simultaneously, only the common tags of the selected Autocaptured events show up in the Manage Tags dialog box.
The following image shows that the tag new-project-2025 is a common tag between the two Autocaptured events.
In the Manage Tags dialog box, enter the tag name to select from the list.
Note:
If the tag does not exist, type in the name of the tag, and then click Create Tag "Tag-name".
Click Done.
