View Autocaptured events

Note:

Autocapture is a Beta feature. Contact support@whatfix.com to enable it.

Whatfix enables you to identify and save Autocaptured events. Once you save the Autocaptured events, you can view the Defined Autocaptured events on both the Whatfix Studio and Whatfix Analytics dashboard.

Note:

Autocaptured events and User Actions are collectively referred to as Defined events.

View Autocaptured events using Whatfix Studio

The Defined events can be one of the following:

  • On this page

  • Not visible

Note:

  • On this page: Autocaptured events are directly visible on the page.

  • Not visible: Autocaptured events are hidden from view (for example, an option inside a dropdown) or the events are not detected on the page.


View Autocaptured events visible on the page

Use the following steps to view the Autocaptured events visible on the page:

  1. Log in to your application, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.

  2. Under EVENTS, click Track event.

  3. Click Refresh page.

Note:

Whatfix refreshes the page, and enables the Preview Mode.

  1. In Whatfix Studio, click Defined events.

  2. Under the On this page section, view the Defined events visible on the page.

    Note:

    • Autocaptured events and User Actions are denoted by their respective labels.

    • Click the Highlight icon to view all the Defined events (Saved Autocaptured events and User Actions) on the page. Whatfix highlights all the Defined events in blue.

  3. Click the Autocaptured event.

    Note:

    Whatfix highlights the Defined Autocaptured event on the page. You can edit the Autocaptured event, if required. For more information, see How can I edit Autocaptured events?

View Autocaptured events not visible on the page

Use the following steps to view the Autocaptured events not visible on the page:

  1. Log in to your application, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.

  2. Under EVENTS, click Track event.

Note:

Whatfix refreshes the page, and enables the Preview Mode.

  1. In Whatfix Studio, click Defined events.

  2. Click Not visible.

  3. Click the Autocaptured event.

    Note:

    Whatfix highlights the Defined Autocaptured event on the page. You can edit the Autocaptured event, if required. For more information, see How can I edit Autocaptured events?

View Autocaptured events using the Whatfix Analytics dashboard

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Tracking.

  2. Click Events.

Note:

Autocaptured events are denoted by the Type: Click - Autocapture.

  1. Under All events, hover your cursor over the Autocaptured event, and then click the Edit icon.

  2. View the name and location of the Autocaptured event.

    Note:

    • The Autocaptured event is highlighted in red.

    • Click the Preview icon to maximize the screenshot showing the location of the Autocaptured event.
