Whatfix enables you to edit the User Action after creation. For example, you do not have to recreate the User Action every time your application undergoes a UI change. Re-select the Action element, rename the User Action, and re-configure the Action completion rules, while editing the User Action.
Use the following steps to edit a User Action:
-
On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Tracking.
-
Click Events.
-
In the User Actions section, hover your cursor over the User Action you want to edit.
-
Click the Edit icon.
The User Action edit screen opens.
-
Make the following changes to the User Action on the edit screen:
- View a screenshot of the User Action
- Edit the name of the User Action
- Change the Trigger type of the User Action
- To reselect the element, edit tags, or update Display Rules, you need to access the application page on which the User Action is created. Whatfix provides the Launch live edit option, which opens Studio and enables you to make the above-mentioned changes.
- If you don't want to open Studio and make changes, click Save to save the changes you've made on the edit screen.
- To make other changes that require Studio to be opened on the application, click Launch live edit.
- If you've made any changes on the edit screen in the dashboard, click Save and go to save your changes and open Studio on the application page.
- Click Discard changes to discard any changes and open Studio on the application page.
- Once the application launches, on Studio, click the User Action you want to edit.
Make the following changes to the User Action:
- Make the necessary changes, and then click Save Action.
After editing a User Action, ensure you push the User Action back to Production to start capturing the engagement data.
