After creating a Funnel, analyze user progress as they navigate through the application. The Funnel View and the Table View enable identification of where users fail or drop off. This information enables improvements to the application and enhances the user experience.
The Funnel view of the events displays the following:
- The total number of unique users who engaged with the Funnel step.
- Subsequent slopes display the drop-off percentage of users. For example, a steeper slope (shown in red) indicates a high percentage of users who did not engage with the Funnel step.
- The average total time taken between two events.
The Funnel view also displays the Funnel Summary which has the following metrics:
-
Time taken to complete the Funnel: This metric shows how long end users take to complete the entire process based on the following three measures:
-
Average: This value represents the sum of the total time taken by each user to complete a process, divided by the number of users. For example, the average total time taken by 100 users to complete the entire Funnel is 59m 1s, indicating that users take 59 minutes and 1 second to complete the process. This calculation involves summing the individual completion times of each user and dividing by 100. For more information, see How is the Average Time calculated in a Funnel?
-
Median: The median represents the middle value when the total time taken by each user is arranged in order from shortest to longest. For example, the median time taken by end users to complete the Funnel is 55m 7s, indicating that half of the users take less than and half take more than 55 minutes and 7 seconds to complete the process.
-
95th percentile: This value represents the time taken by 95% of end users to complete the process. For example, the 95th percentile is 3m 1s, indicating that only 5% of users take more than 3 minutes and 1 second to complete the process.
-
Slowest Step: This metric shows which Funnel step users spend the most time on.
-
Biggest Drop: This metric shows which Funnel step experiences the highest number of user drop-offs.
- View all Funnel events, that is, Flows, User Actions, and Page View in the Funnel view.
- Funnels only consider completed Flow steps and User Actions.
Filter Funnels using the default and custom date filters.
The Total Users metric shows the total number of users present on the application. The count of Total Users changes based on the User filter applied. For example, if you've filtered the Funnel data for users using the Chrome browser, the total number of users shows all users who accessed the application using the Chrome browser.
The Table view of the events displays selected Flows, User Actions, and Page Views, the total number of unique users who engaged with the actions, and the average time taken for each action before interaction with the next action.
