Creating a Funnel helps you understand how your end users are progressing through a defined path in your application and where they're dropping off. This Insight helps you reduce friction in your application and improve the end-user experience.
After making changes to improve your end users' flow in the application, you may want to understand the change in completion rate, time, or drop-off rate. Whatfix enables you to compare Funnel data before and after the changes are made and find out if the changes you've made are helping your end users complete a process effectively.
Ensure that you've created a Funnel in advance. For more information, see Create a Funnel.
Use the following steps to compare Funnel data:
- On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.
-
Click the Funnel Insight you want to compare.
-
Scroll down to the Funnel chart and go to the Compare with section.
-
Select a date range to compare the Funnel data using the dropdown.
Based on the timeframe in which you have visualized the existing Funnel, select the following timeframes for comparison:
-
When you're comparing two Funnels, the same date range is applied to the comparison data. For example, consider that you've visualized a Funnel for the current 7 day date range, and then Whatfix enables you to compare it against the Funnel data for the previous 7 days, the first 7 days from 30 days ago, the first 7 days from 90 days ago, or a custom 7 day date range.
-
If you've visualized the Funnel data for a custom date, compare the data with the equivalent previous date. For example, if you've visualized the data for 122 days, then compare the data with the previous 122 days.
-
The Total Users shows the total number of users present on the application. View the comparison between the number of users who are present on the application for a current date range and the equivalent past date range.
-
The count of Total Users changes based on the User filter applied. For example, if you've filtered the Funnel data for users using the Chrome browser, then the total number of users shows all the users who accessed the application using the Chrome browser.
-
The count of total users includes users who may not have interacted with the Flow steps, User Action, or Page View visualized in the Funnel.
-
The Funnel chart shows the Funnel steps depicted in two different colors, yellow and blue. The yellow represents the past Funnel data (users who completed the step) and the blue represents the current data.
-
The compared Funnel Summary data is also available.
For more information on Funnel Summary, see Understand Funnel data.
- Click Save.
Click Save as to save the changes made to the existing Insight to a new Insight. For more information, see Copy Funnels.
-
Click Export data to download the Funnel comparison data.
-
Click Close comparison to remove the Funnel comparison.
-
Click the Funnel step to create a Cohort of users who completed the step. For more information, see Create Cohorts from Funnel Insights.
