Whatfix enables you to add videos in Self Help. You can create videos within a Self Help Segment or add existing videos to a segment.
When the end users click a video content in Self Help, a pop-up opens and the video is played inside the pop-up as shown in the following image.

Create Videos within a Self Help Segment

Use the following steps to create a video within a Self Help segment:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.

  2. Click Self Help.

  3. Go to the required Self Help segment and then click the Edit icon.

  1. Click Create and then select Video using the dropdown.

  2. Enter the Title and upload the video or insert the Video Link.

    Note
    • You can add search keywords to the link to make it easy for your end user to search for it in Self Help.
    • You can also add tags to your link content.

    If you have enabled Smart Context, all content created on your application is auto-tagged. However, if static content (articles, videos, and links) is not created on your application using studio, you must add the global-page tag to display such content in the Self Help widget on your application. To tag content, see Add Tags to content.
    If the tag doesn't work on your account, contact support@whatfix.com.

    Note
    • If you configure Page tags as Visibility Rules for a Self Help segment, then all the static content associated with the Page tag appears in the Self Help widget when the tag is evaluated. In this case, you need not add global-page tag or Auto tags to the static content created using the dashboard.
    • If your account is smart context enabled, and while creating content you cannot add any tags, then you need to first create a Flow and save it in your dashboard. Ensure that this Flow is not pushed to Production. Creating a flow generates Auto tags that can be added to the desired content. These Auto tags are seen in the Tags section. Once the tags are generated, you can delete the flow.
  3. Click Save Video.

Add existing Videos to a Self Help Segment

Use the following steps to add an existing video to a Self Help Segment:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.

  2. Click Self Help.

  3. Go to the required Self Help segment and then click the Edit icon.

  1. Click Add Content.

  2. Filter the content using the Filter option. From the dropdown, select VIDEO.

  3. Click Okay.
