Whatfix enables you to create a copy of a Smart Tip and modify it. If you want to use the same Smart Tip with minor modifications or display it to different users, create a copy and make it live for your end users. This helps you reuse existing Smart Tips and eliminates the need to recreate them from scratch.
A copy of a Smart Tip can be created in both the widget and content sections within the Dashboard.
- The content section copy enables you to modify and customize the Smart Tip.
- The Widget section copy enables you to edit visibility rules, incorporate Smart Tips into a Smart Tip collection, and attach content.
- The best practice is to copy the Smart-tip at the Widget level so that any changes you make at the content level remains with the copied widget that you would publish.

On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.

Click Smart-tips.

Hover your cursor over the Smart Tip you want to copy, and then click the More icon.

Click Copy.
- Whatfix content and widgets can be copied in the Draft, Ready, and Production stages.
- The copy of the Whatfix content or widget is created with the title: Copy of <Content/Widget Title>.
- Hover your cursor over the copied Smart Tip, and then click the Edit icon.
Proceed with editing the Smart-tips. For more information, see Edit Smart-tips.
You must publish the copied Smart Tip segment from the Draft stage or the Ready stage to the Production stage for it to appear on your application. For more information, see Publish Whatfix content and widgets.

On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.

Click Smart-tips.
- Hover your cursor over the Smart Tip you want to copy, and then click the Copy icon.
- Whatfix content and widgets can be copied in Draft, Ready, and Production stages.
- The copy of the Whatfix content or widget is created with the title: Copy of <Content/Widget Title>.

Hover your cursor over the copied Smart Tip, and then click the Edit icon.

Expand the Set Visibility Rules section and set up your Visibility Rules that determine the display of the Smart Tip collection. For more information, see new Visibility Rules for Widgets.

Click Save after configuring the Smart Tip.
