Download and translate the property files

To translate content into a particular language using the property files, follow these steps:

  1. Download the language property file from the Dashboard.
  2. Update the property file with the translated content.

Download the property file

Use the following steps to download the language files,

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.

  2. Click Translations.

  1. Download the property file (.zip file) for any language using the Download icon next to it.

  2. Select the .properties format.
  3. Click Download.
Note

The language file gets downloaded in .zip format.

Translating the property file

Use the following steps to translate the content,

  1. Extract the zip file and open the file using a text editor like Sublime Text or any text or code editor.
Note
  • If it's the first time translating to the language, translate content under the folder full.
  • If you're translating the new content created, translate content under the folder delta.
  1. Translate the content.
    Each language has an associated properties file that can be used to translate Whatfix UI texts so that the user has a consistent experience.

  1. Once the files are translated, convert them into a .zip folder using a compressor tool and upload them.
