By segmenting end users based on defined attributes, DAP on OS ensures that the right content reaches the right end users. This approach enhances user engagement, improves training effectiveness, and drives overall adoption of the platform.
Role Tags
Role Tags are specific identifiers configured on the Dashboard. They enable you to target specific Whatfix content to defined user groups based on their roles on the underlying application.
Use Cases
Targeted content delivery: Segment content to target specific user groups effectively. For example, you can deliver content related to translation guidelines, localization updates, or language-specific features exclusively to users with the “Translator” role, while excluding other roles.
Customized notifications: Send specific notifications about new features exclusively to users whose roles are impacted by the updates. This approach minimizes unnecessary alerts for other users.
User Attributes
User Attributes provide information about the characteristics of your users. A User Attribute can uniquely identify the user. The attribute could be any alphanumeric ID, Email ID, or a common attribute that is shared amongst various users, such as their Department, Business Unit, and more. They enable content segmentation based on these specific properties.
Integrate DAP on OS with your application. This enables Whatfix to retrieve relevant user information.
Apply these attributes at widget level for targeted content delivery.
Note:
For more information, see User Attributes.
Use Cases
Username or email ID based personalization: If specific users require custom flows, you can target those individuals by their email ID or username.
Enterprise Attributes
Enterprise attributes are the attributes that are related to broader organizational units. For example, geography, department, business unit and more. Whatfix enables you to segment content to users based on attributes fetched at an application level.
Use Cases
Whatfix Enterprise Attributes enables you to fetch your application information and use them in widget visibility rules for easy content segmentation. For example, you can configure a Pop-up only to users logging in from the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region.
Info:
You can use Enterprise Attributes for use cases where end user related segmentation is not required.
