Whatfix enables you to segment content delivery to specific users based on attributes that you define, see Segmentation Attributes. One way to achieve this is through Google Sheets integration, which enables content authors to manually manage and map User Attributes. Once the integration is complete, the Whatfix database stores user and enterprise data from the Google Sheet, which can then be used for content segmentation. This enables you to display specific content, such as Pop-ups, to selected users based on defined criteria.
Steps for Segmentation using Google Sheets
Note:
Create a user attribute. These attributes will later be used to determine which users will see the targeted content. For more information, see User Attributes.
Create a new Google Sheet document.
Add the following columns to your sheet:
a. Laptop ID/ Device ID with user ID separated by a hyphen.
b. User Attributes - The value of this field must be a Yes or No. Use Yes against the Laptop IDs of Users you want to show the content to, and No for those you don’t want to.
Name and save your Google Sheet.
Once your Google Sheet is ready, you will need to integrate it with Whatfix to fetch user data.
Note:
Integrating Whatfix and Google Sheets required backend configuration that can only be done by Whatfix. Contact support@whatfix.com to set up the integration. For more information, see Google Sheets Integration.
Run or schedule the integration.
Use User attribute as a Visibility Rule while configuring content.
