What are Tasks?
Tasks are individual to-do items that guide end users to complete specific actions or steps.
Tasks are articles that include links, images, and videos. End users can track their progress of assigned tasks using the progress bar. On completion of a task, end users can mark the task as complete. Tasks can also have due dates, which are set during task creation.
Once a task is marked as completed, it cannot be unmarked.
What are Task Lists?
The Task List widget enables you to show a list of to-do tasks for your end users in DAP on OS. Tasks are articles that you can create or import while configuring a Task List widget.
-
Whatfix enables you to add only articles as Tasks. However, articles created as static content on the Dashboard cannot be added as Tasks to a Task List.
-
Other types of static content, such as images, videos, links, or PDFs cannot be added as Tasks to Task Lists. However, images, videos, and links can be added to Tasks using the Rich Text Editor.
Set due dates for Tasks
Set a due date for individual tasks while creating or editing them. If you import an existing task, it retains the due date originally set during its creation. The due date can be edited as needed. The due date helps users track and manage task completion effectively.
Access Tasks
End users can access Tasks in either of the following ways:
-
From Pin, by hovering your cursor over it and clicking the Tasks icon.
-
From the Tasks tab of the Hub Panel.
Use cases
- New user onboarding: Create Tasks to help end users set up the application for the first time, such as setting up the profile.
- New employee onboarding: Create a list of activities that need to be completed by an employee as part of onboarding.
- New feature communication: Create Tasks to communicate a new feature to end users.
