Add Real Time Cohorts as Visibility Rules

Cohorts enable you to group users based on specific criteria or behaviors, compare them with other groups, and uncover insights that can guide actions. Use these Cohorts as Visibility Rules (Beta) to target Whatfix content to specific user groups based on their behavior.

When you enable Real Time Cohorts, and use the Real Time Cohorts as Visibility Rules, Whatfix refreshes such Cohorts in real time and displays Whatfix content immediately. When a user is added to or removed from a Real Time Cohort, Whatfix immediately evaluates the visibility of widgets for the user. For more information, see Understand Real Time Cohorts.

Note:

As a prerequisite, you need to enable the Cohorts as a Visibility Rule feature before enabling the Real Time Cohorts feature.

Use the the following steps to add a Real Time Cohort as Visibility Rules:

For example, consider that you want to show an “Advanced Features” Pop-up to users who complete the “Product Tour Flow”.

1. Create a Cohort with the required conditions. For example, create a Cohort of users who complete the “Product Tour” Flow.

2. Create a Pop-up.

3. In the Visibility rules section of your Pop-up, click Who does the pop up appear to?

   

4. In the How would you like to identify the user? dropdown, select Cohorts.

   

5. Select one of the following conditions:

   Belongs to: Users who are part of the Cohort

   Does not belong to: Users who are not part of the Cohort.

   

6. Select the required Cohort, and then click Add.

   

   Info:

   Whatfix denotes the Cohorts containing conditions that evaluate in real time using the Real time badge.

   

7. Configure additional Visibility Rules, and then click Save.

   

8. Click Save to save the Pop-up.

   

   Note:

   • After adding the Cohort to Visibility Rules, Whatfix performs the initial sync of the Cohort within 15 minutes.

   • Preview the widget after 15 minutes.

   • After the one-time processing, all syncs occur in real-time; whenever a user is added to or removed from a Real Time Cohort, Whatfix immediately evaluates and updates the widget visibility for that user.

9. Preview the Pop-up using the Preview mode.

10. Publish the Pop-up.

Whatfix displays the Pop-up to the specific Cohort of users.
