Exclude test User IDs while visualizing Insights data to eliminate noise and focus on real-time user interactions with the product. Removing test user interactions refines analytics data and improves decision-making.
- Whatfix enables you to filter data by actual User IDs, such as email, if you have User Identification enabled in your account.
- You cannot filter User IDs if you've enabled the encryption of User IDs feature.
Use the following steps to exclude test User IDs from Trend Insights:
Consider that you want to analyze the User IDs that interacted with a feature-related User Action, excluding test users.
- On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.
-
Click Create insights.
-
Click Trend Insights.
-
To name your Insight, click the Edit icon.
-
Click Add event and select the event that you want to analyze.
Add Default (Whatfix-related events) and Custom events. For more information, see List of Whatfix-related events.
-
Click Add user filter, and then click User Id.
-
Select the condition as Does not equal to using the dropdown.
-
Enter the User ID that you want to exclude, and then click Search.
- To exclude a User ID that contains a comma, for example Doe, John, enclose the User ID in quotes "Doe, John" while searching. Add a comma after the quotes when excluding more than one User ID with a comma.
- To exclude a User ID that contains quotes, for example "John", do not add a comma between the quotes.
- Click Apply once the User ID appears.
The following image shows how the excluded User ID appears:
- Click Add user breakdown, and then click User Id.
-
Scroll down to view the generated data chart.
-
The data chart excludes data for the filter and the User Breakdown.
- Click Save.
