How can I change an Autocaptured click event to a different trigger type?

Prev Next

Whatfix Autocapture captures only click events or interactions on a page. To change the trigger type of an Autocaptured event to hovering or typing text, create the event as a User Action.

Note:

You can only change the trigger type of an Autocaptured event that is not saved.

Use the following steps to create the Autocaptured event as a User Action:

  1. Log in to your application, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.
    CLM_editor plug in2

  2. Under EVENTS, click Track event.

  3. Click Refresh page.

Note:

Whatfix refreshes the page, and enables the Preview Mode.

  1. Under the Undefined events section, hover your cursor over the Undefined Autocaptured event, and then click the Preview icon. Whatfix automatically generates names for most Undefined Autocaptured events.

    Note:

Whatfix uses red colored rectangles to highlight the undefined or unnamed Autocaptured events on the page. After previewing the location of the event on the page, you can change the Autocaptured click event to a User Action.

  6. Create the User Action as usual with the required completion rule and save it.

  7. Verify the User Action and push it to Production.

Note:

  • If you want to capture Event Attributes (Beta feature) from the Autocapture experience, create a User Action as shown in this article, and then capture Event Attributes from the User Action.

  • Event Attributes also need to be pushed to Production.

  • Visualize the engagement for the User Actions using Trend Insights, Funnel Insights, and User Journeys.
