Animate Self-help icon:

  • Enable (The type of animation): There are three different ways in which animations can be shown, that is, Ripple, Flash, and Pulse.
  • Number of times to be shown: Denotes the number of times an end user has to interact with Self Help before the animation stops appearing.
Note:
  • If the end user never clicks the Self Help widget, the animation appears on every page load, indefinitely.
  • Once the end user clicks the Self Help widget on any page, Whatfix counts this as one interaction.
  • Whatfix shows the animation until the end user clicks the Self Help widget the configured number of times.
For example, if the Number of times to be shown is configured to 6:
    • The animation appears on every page load until the user clicks the Self Help widget 6 times.
    • After the sixth interaction, the animation no longer appears for the end user.
  • Onboarding themes: Choose the background color, close icon color, text, button color, and button text.
  • Onboarding message: This is textual information that is displayed when the user hovers their cursor over Self Help.

Note:

The animation and onboarding messages are independent of each other. Depending on your needs, configure either one or both.

Info:

Ensure that you push the changes made to Production so that the latest behavior reflects for end users.

Additionally, you can also choose to add a carousel animation to the Self Help widget in the closed state. This draws end-user attention to the closed Self Help widget and helps increase the opening rate of the widget.
When you add a carousel animation, the closed Self Help widget displays the following:

  • A customizable icon of your choice (For more information, see Add an icon to Self Help)
  • The number of integrated articles
  • An icon for each of the repositories integrated with Whatfix
