Copy User Journeys

Copying a User Journey enables you to create a copy of an existing User Journey to change the start or end point, filter, or date. This minimizes time and effort, as you can avoid creating an entirely new User Journey to visualize it with updated parameters.

You can copy User Journeys in the following three ways:

  • Copy User Journey from the list view
  • Copy User Journey from within an existing User Journey
  • Save changes made to an existing User Journey to a new User Journey
Copy User Journey from the list view

Use the following steps to copy a User Journey from the list view:

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.

  1. Hover your cursor over the User Journey you want to copy, and then click the Copy icon.

  • The copy of the User Journey gets created as Copy Of [User Journey name]. The copied User Journey gets created at the top of the list.

  • Click the copied User Journey and edit the name.

Copy User Journey from within an existing User Journey

Use the following steps to copy a User Journey from within an existing User Journey:

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.

  1. Click the User Journey that you want to copy.

  2. At the top, click the Copy icon.

The Copy icon is visible only if you don't make any changes to the existing User Journey.

  1. On the Give your insight a name. pop-up, enter the name of the new User Journey.

  2. Click Make a copy.

Once the new User Journey is created from the existing User Journey, on the Insight created pop-up, click Go to Insight to view and edit your new User Journey.

Save changes made to an existing User Journey to a new User Journey

While editing an existing User Journey, Whatfix enables you to save the changes to a new User Journey or save them in the existing User Journey.

Use the following steps to save the changes to a new User Journey from an existing User Journey:

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.

  1. Click the User Journey that you want to edit.

  2. Make the required changes and then click Save as.

  • The Save as button is enabled only if you make any changes to the User Journey.
  • If you don't make any changes to the User Journey, only the Copy icon is visible.
  1. On the Give your insight a name. pop-up, enter the name of the new User Journey.

  2. Click Save as new insight.

  • A new User Journey is created exactly similar to the existing User Journey.

  • On the Insight created pop-up, click Go to Insight to view and edit your new User Journey.

Any changes made to an Insight that's part of Dashboards are reflected in the Dashboards as well. If you don't want the changes made to the Insight to be reflected in all the Dashboards it's part of, you can save the Insight as a copy without the changes. You can then use the copied Insight in other Dashboards, and any changes made to this Insight do not impact the original Insight in the other Dashboards.
